The Timber Fire is currently 5,256 acres and 24% contained, with 1,894 personnel assigned to the incident. Firefighters continue working to strengthen containment lines and secure the fire.

Smoke conditions may still vary throughout Monterey County as weather conditions change. Residents in and near affected areas should continue to monitor local air quality and take steps to reduce smoke exposure when smoke is visible or air quality deteriorates.
