Burn Permits

Backyard Burn Season ended on April 30, 2024 and will reopen on December 1, 2024

In addition to these MBARD Burn Permits, refer to CALFIRE or your local fire department for their permitting requirements. 

MBARD Burn Permits

Piles cleared from less than 10 acres of agricultural land or for land management - apply for an Agricultural and Land Management Burn Permit from MBARD

Piles cleared from 10 + acres of agricultural land management or for wildland vegetation management - use the Prescribed Fire Information Reporting System (PFIRS). Apply for a Land Manager’s account HERE.

Broadcast burns of any size - use the Prescribed Fire Information Reporting System (PFIRS). Apply for a Land Manager’s account HERE.

Backyard burns (residential land) - Backyard Burning is the burning of green waste material by occupants of single- or two-family dwellings. Backyard Burn Season ends on April 30th and reopens on December 1st.
